I am wondering if any of you could share your process for registering pre-college students in for-credit summer programs. We are currently finding our pre-college students are struggling to navigate this on their own.

• Do you have students register themselves?
  
• Does your registrar handle this?
  
• Are you able to back end register these students yourself?

 

We are a PeopleSoft campus and our department is within UC (University College - continuing ed.) so we have registrar resources in our college. My office manually enrolls pre-college students in credit courses and the UC registrar staff manually enroll students in noncredit programs. Students would not be able to do this on their own and our application system (SlideRoom) does not the functionality to play with PeopleSoft. Students can be enrolled in batches so that helps but overall, it’s a bear. We hope to move to Slate within a year or two.
