NAASS is excited to present the 'Tip of the Month', a new element of The NAASS Beat where we can serve members through helpful advice for summer and special session programming. Our goal is to share practical solutions to obstacles you may be experiencing at your institution. If you have a recommendation for the Tip of the Month, contact NAASS

  • This month's Tip of the Month:
    • Trend: Pre-college program participants often contact their parents with questions instead of utilizing the on-campus resources available to them during the program.
    • Recommendation 1: Remind program participants that your department is here to advocate on their behalf.
    • Recommendation 2: Implement systems of communication for parents to contact the appropriate parties for escalated matters.
    • Recommendation 3: Reiterate to students the contact information that can be used for specific situations (ex: contact information for specific departments and program staff).
